Wen nii? A 21-year-old Councillor who's already the youngest at the table.
Kevin-Joseph Mianscum is a member of the Cree Nation of Mistissini currently serving as the youngest Councillor on the Council of the Cree Nation of Mistissini. His path started as a Youth Councillor with the Mistissini Youth Council in 2023, and has since grown to include a seat as Council Representative on the Voyageur Memorial School Committee and a role on the H.O.P.E. Committee, addressing substance-use awareness and community well-being.
A graduate of Dabwetamun Academy, Kevin has continued his education through Algonquin College's Corporate Division, the International Business Management Institute, and Harvard Business School Online — earning certificates in Leadership, Finance, Accounting, Global Governance, and a Mini-MBA, with plans to keep studying Political Science, International Relations, and Law.
He's also the founder of KJ's Charcuterie & Catering, a hobby business serving refreshments to Mistissini and neighbouring communities — the same hands-on, community-first energy he brings to council work.
Kevin has carried the Cree Nation's perspective onto national and international stages — experience he brings back to serve the community directly.

Housing, land, and territory are treated as human rights and shared responsibilities — from homeownership access to the traditional knowledge held by our tallymen and tallywomen.
